First Annual Kepler's State of the Union Monday, October 21, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the re-opening of Kepler's and we've made great progress toward our vision of creating the sustainable bookstore of the future! We're starting an annual tradition, borrowed from public companies that hold annual shareholder meetings, by inviting the community to the First Annual Kepler's State of the Union gathering. Join us for nibbles at 6:30 p.m. and we'll start the presentations at 7:00 p.m sharp. We have lots to share, but before we do, we'd like to hear from you -- what do you want to know about Kepler's? Please take a moment to RSVP and answer a couple of quick questions on Survey Monkey so we'll know what you are most interested in.
Start: 7:00 pm
Monday, October 21, 7:00 p.m. The Painted Veil by W. Somerset Maugham This meeting will take place at the Foster City Library.Set in England and Hong Kong in the 1920s, The Painted Veil is the story of the beautiful but love-starved Kitty Fane. When her husband discovers her adulterous affair, he forces her to accompany him to the heart of a cholera epidemic. Stripped of the British society of her youth and the small but effective society she fought so hard to attain in Hong Kong, she is compelled by her awakening conscience to reassess her life and learn how to love.
