The coolest mythology book (that will also be the coolest book period) that you pick up this season. Open it up. You won’t be able to put it down until you’ve read every page. (Caitlin)
Spain, 1957, welcomes tourists with its beautiful magic. Simmering under that image, Spanish citizens live in constant dread under dictator Franco. Texan Daniel Matheson sets out with his camera to capture Madrid under the tourist view. Daniel learns the hard reality of life—Madrid is far from a paradise. Sepetys writes a compelling story for readers about Franco’s regime. (Marilyn)
Ronan Lynch is a Dreamer who can bring objects back from his dreams. His dreams send him to save another Dreamer, an art forger who makes copies of herself if she sleeps. Both are being hunted by an assassin sent to kill the Dreamers to avert the apocalypse. Gorgeously written, hard to put down, this is the best book I’ve read this season. (Angela)
